This is really cool! I'm surprised how well you pull off these more realistic characters.

The coloring is still pretty distinctly your style, so I think it would be interesting to see this done with a more subdued color scheme. Not to suggest these are bad colors (they're great!) but to me it has a certain "for kids" kind of feel to it. It reminds me a bit of ~Laemeur, who has the subdued coloring absolutely down, and his art has a decidedly retro feel, even when using bright colors. If you'd like to swing this in a more "pulp"-style direction, you might check him out for inspiration.

Thank you very much!
I agree with you about the colors. I don't know any other way to make colors so I decided to try my usual coloring style. It has a "for kids" air indeed.
By coincidence, I've been taking Laemeur's art as reference for this kind of drawing. His drawings are amazing. I'd be so happy if I could make academic drawings as good as the ones he makes.

Hah! I guess I shouldn't be surprised you were already watching him, we seem to have a lot of interest overlap. :) I'll be looking forward to seeing how your style continues to change.

I think the monster will win. He's a southpaw, and the hero's probably not used to fighting left-handed opponents. It's like baseball. :B

I'm thinking the monster wins this fight. I like the little details, like the short sword belted to the hero's left leg and the pouch (coin purse?) hanging from his right side.
