Some toy collectors believe that He Man prototypes were actually going to be a Conan toy line. But Mattel gave up to make Conan toys because the movie was too violent and they didn't want it to be associated with their company. So they created their own barbarian for kids, which was He-Man.
It's funny that only two men in all Eternia had that haircut: Adam and He Man, and still his friends didn't get that they were the same person.
Like that Team Rocket from Pokemon that just put a moustache on Jessie and Ash will be fooled again.
